Shaun brings practical strategic experience in commercial airport / airline business planning and infrastructure capacity planning. He has honed his expertise in the following aviation related areas of business: Airport Master planning, Passenger & Cargo Route Development Analysis, Airport / Airline Business Development Strategies, Passenger / Cargo Traffic Forecasting, Passenger Terminal Design and Construction, Cargo Facilities Design and Construction , MRO Developments AND Industrial / High Tech Park Development.

Working on many large-scale aviation projects, has given him particular experience in strategy evaluation, business plans and future capacity planning for airports, airfields and airlines. Clients appreciate his unique understanding of the strategic dispositions of critical stakeholders, and skill in successful closing of transactions.

Before opening VVT Consulting, Shaun held a variety of roles at Hochtief Airport GmBH and Senai Airport where he was a key member contributing towards the success of Senai Airport as a successful fully privatised airport in Malaysia being involved from the taking over of the airport and attaining the concessionaire and development rights for the Syed Mokhtar Group. In his tenure various airline route negotiations including with Air Asia was successfully undertaken, the development of airside, landside facilities at the airport as well as cargo route development projects were undertaken.


DEVELOPMENT

Mr Shaun Kumar has had 25 years of experience in the construction industry with various roles from a Contractor, Client and a Consultant. He has handled various developments and in particular infrastructure, hotels, resorts, hospitals and airport developments as an Owner’s Rep / Project Director. His role has covered leadership roles right through from concept stages to handing over. His past experience including stints with large conglomerates in Malaysia namely MMC and Khazanah. Throughout his career he has developed a skill in dispute resolution and claims management and has recently been empanelled by the Asian International Arbitration Centre as a licensed Adjudicator and is a contract administration and quantum analysis expert.


Shaun earned a BSc in Quantity Surveying from University of Northumbria, Newcastle (UK) and an MSc in Construction Management from the University of New South Wales, Sydney (Australia).
